Dynamic Network Factory's New High-Performance Enterprise F12-HA RAID Subsystem Ensures Fault Tolerance with Active-Active RAID Controllers

Combines High Availability with Built-In Redundancy and Up to 45TB of Storage Capacity to Meet the Escalating Needs of Entry-Level, Mid-Range and Tiered Storage Applications

Dynamic Network Factory, Inc. (DNF), a leading maker of high-performance network attached storage (NAS), storage area networks (SANs), RAID and iSCSI systems, today introduced the Enterprise F12-HA, a robust, high-availability 4Gb RAID subsystem with features -- such as active-active RAID Controllers, low-cost expansion options and SAS and SATA disk support - that meet the escalating demands of small and mid-range enterprises.

Now available, the Enterprise F12-HA delivers all the high availability, redundancy and storage capacity that growing organizations need to build a high-performance 4GB SAN, at an economical $3.50 per GB. Designed to ensure no single point of failure, all configurations feature active-active RAID controllers to allow customers to double the performance and bandwidth capacity of their overall solution. The controllers are interconnected and all data paths are redundant to the disks, so that if one controller fails, the second continues operating uninterrupted to maximize uptime for the entire storage system.

With 1Gb of battery-backed cache per controller, the Enterprise F12-HA meets customer demands for the highest levels of data throughput and performance. Support for up to 12 hot-swappable SAS or SATA drives also ensures that customers have the flexibility to create tiered storage environments that meet their diverging data protection and budget requirements. DNF also offers cost-effective external expansion -- made possible by an on-board connection -- through use of the low-cost DNF Spod 12000 Expansion Array, which allows up to 45TB of storage capacity.

"Today's business-critical applications demand increasing levels of fault tolerance as well as the utmost in flexibility for supporting tiered storage requirements," said Mo Tahmasebi, CEO of DNF.

The Enterprise F12-HA more than meets that demand, while also reflecting DNF's commitment to quality, affordability and ease of use - the primary factors that bring customers back to us again and again as their storage needs grow and change."

The Spods use high-speed Infiniband storage interconnectivity to the Enterprise F12-HA to offer substantial performance between the RAID controllers and the Spod. Centralized storage management across the expansion devices provides ease of administration and operation. The Enterprise F12-HA also supports a variety of operating systems for use in heterogeneous IT environments, and features out-of-band remote management to provide IT teams with flexible, convenient administration options.

Each system is enclosed in a 2U rack-mount chassis and features redundant power supplies for high availability. All Enterprise F12-HA systems also offer support for RAID levels 0,1, 5, 6, 10 and 50, and are designed to manage the RAID and volume settings for attached Spod 12000 JBODs.

Available now, pricing for the Enterprise F12-HA starts at $15,000 for SATA-based configurations.
