Hayward, CA - March 16, 2000: -- Dynamic Network Factory, a leading provider of RAID and Network-Attached Storage (NAS) solutions, announced today the Dynamo RAID NAS. Designed to provide high performance, fault tolerant networked data access, the Dynamo combines Dynamic Network Factory's proven RAID subsystems with high-performance Intel hardware and a highly-optimized, multi-threaded, multitasking micro-kernal with only a 500 kb footprint. This provides up to 3 times more performance and up to 1/5 of the price compared with other NAS products available today in the market. Dynamo RAID NAS data-access servers are specialized Network Attached Storage devices designed to deliver data with quick response times to hundreds of UNIX, LINUX, NT, MAC and Windows clients concurrently.
Dynamo RAID NAS supports up to 450GB of internal RAID 5 storage using up to 12 hot swap disk drives and 3 Terabytes of expansion with integrated tape back up support.
"The heart of the Dynamo is the real time kernel optimized to deliver data to networks. That combined with our bullet-proof RAID subsystem satisfies the growing needs of the Internet economy to give 24/7 availability and faster information access." said Mark Thomas, Senior Product Manager at Dynamic Network Factory.
Using server class speeds of up to 800MHz Internal Processing power and up to a Gigabyte of internal cache, the Dynamo can manage Terabytes of storage. Each Dynamo supports 100MB Fast Ethernet or Gigabit fiber Ethernet adapters.
Dynamo's cross-platform file sharing, centralized Java-based management, scalability, performance, fault tolerance, and low cost of ownership redefines the future of Network Attached Storage appliances.
Available and shipping now are 75GB to 450GB configurations in either a single tower or rackmount chassis. The Dynamo RAID NAS supplies 112GB of high performance NAS storage for less than $3,000.
